believes that inner beauty is the sum of the qualities that make us good with ourselves and with others. We learn to listen to our physical and psychic needs; one agrees to discover and love one’s deep being, so as to found a self-confidence which will serve as a basis for deploying trust in the other. This benevolence towards oneself and others can only be understood as “beauty” if one remembers the lessons of ancient and classical thinkers.

We regularly encounter, on various aesthetic or personal development blogs, the idea that inner beauty is measured by the yardstick of the ability to radiate, to release an aura of happiness. One thinks here not only of the theories of Galen on the beautiful complexion, but especially of the theories of pseudo-Galen on the correspondence between harmony of the internal organs and harmony of the physical appearance: peace, generosity, wisdom and love. work the being in depth and have an impact on its physical beauty.

intracerebral oxytocin, which is often said to be the hormone that binds us affectively to each other (promoting confidence, empathy, desire [15] ), is secreted by the brain when it is stimulated by strong positive emotions. This hormone would be released especially when we are touched by the example of someone we greatly admire. In 2014, a much larger study, including 15,000 individuals between the ages of 24 and 35 followed since their tenth birthday by the University of Cincinnati, showed that the people evaluated as the most attractive were also those who had been the least diagnosed with a number of illnesses or had felt their symptoms the least. One of the conclusions of the study was that the link between attractiveness and good health was due to the perception of a better probability of sexual reproduction. But it is also a question of knowing to what extent attractiveness, by attracting more attention from those around them, would not promote, throughout life, overall well-being with a positive impact on health. We find the link between beauty, health and inner harmony.

On the physiological level, this is explained in particular by the lower secretion of cortisol, the stress hormone (which influences cardiovascular functioning, the metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates). Taking care of yourself would reduce the secretion of cortisol and doing it daily would increase the good looks,
